Distillery Tours
Tours of the distillery are by reservation or walk-in based on availability and are conducted the last Saturday of every month at 1 p.m. Tours meet at the retail station inside the distillery located at 55 Chicago Street, Buffalo, New York, and begin promptly at the listed time. Attendees will enjoy an immersive experience into the world of making whiskey (and other spirits) and include an education on bourbon (America’s only native spirit) and our distilling facility. Tours last approximately 1.5 hrs. and include a guided tasting of (4) four our famous whiskey’s.
Hartman’s Distilling Company lives in a building that once housed The Cooperage, a landmark of Buffalo industrial history. The Cooperage was part of E.B. Homes Machining Co., a 19th and 20th century manufacturing plant of national prominence that built the machinery that constructed wooden barrels. Barrels are still an extremely important part of the distillery industry, with 60 to 70 percent of an aged spirit’s flavor derived from the wooden barrel it’s aged in.
In a way, then, our distillery is your distillery. It is part of our collective history and the history of the industry we love. To that end, we designed it to be an immersive learning experience, so our customers know how our products are made, with what ingredients, and why they taste so good.

Want to try your hand at something different and exciting for your next offsite event? Come distill with us!
Groups can choose their own mash bill and then spend an afternoon or evening running the still and watching their choice spirit being created. Enjoy a cocktail and camaraderie and walk out with a 10, 15, or even 30-gallon barrel of whiskey. Distilling parties are perfect for pre-wedding festivities, bachelor/bachelorettes, birthdays, and workplace team building events. Dates are subject to availability and must be booked at least 60 days in advance.
